Game Day: Knicks vs. Pacers (preseason) — 10/5/21

The Knicks take on the Pacers in the first action of the 2021-22 season. Kemba suits up! So does Fournier! Mitch and Noel are hurt, womp womp. But excitement abounds!

Normally there would be a bit of a preview here, but what really is there to preview at this point?

Kemba Walker is a Knick. He’s going to be donning the orange and blue for the first time, and on the Garden floor no less. Hopefully Tom Thibodeau has a nice play drawn up for him to get him the first bucket of the night.

Evan Fournier will make his debut as well. It’s going to be extremely interesting seeing what his role is on this semi-stacked team on offense (which is weird to say about what was one of the worst starting offenses in the league last year).

No Mitchell Robinson or Nerlens Noel, which means probably a healthy 38 minutes for Taj Gibson as Thibs chases his first win of the season — preseason or not.

If Thibs opts to approach the preseason like a normal human, we might see some Deuce McBride and Quentin Grimes minutes.

And of course, getting to see our old pals RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, and Alec Burks again should be nice.

Game’s at 7:30 pm on MSG (unless you have evil Comcast). Feel free to comment below. Let’s go Knicks!
