Hawks 105, Knicks 94: Game 3 Postgame Reaction

The Knicks got completely embarrassed by the Hawks in Game 3, as Julius Randle and RJ Barrett have both apparently forgotten how to play basketball.

One paragraph to describe the game

The Knicks were a total embarrassment in this game, other than Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson, who were the only two guys that seemed like they gave a shit. Julius Randle basically threw away whatever adjustments he made in the second half of Game 2 and instead decided to play the entire game like the first half of Game 2. The Hawks shot almost 60% from three and there wasn’t a shred of luck involved. The Knicks need to do better, or they’ll be facing an elimination game when they head home on Wednesday.

Game ball

Derrick Rose: 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists

Rose deserves all the credit in the world for doing everything he can this series to make sure the Knicks are at least within striking distance. It’s been nothing short of amazing to see him playing at this level 10 years after his MVP season and the countless injury setbacks that got us here. It’d be really nice if the rest of the Knicks seemed like they cared as much as Rose does.

Big stat

22-3. The Hawks went on a 22-3 run in the second quarter, which was basically the equivalent of the Knicks waving the white flag.

Unsung hero

Nerlens Noel: 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and got fouled hard about 40 times because he tripped Trae Young in Game 2

Other significant performances

None. Nobody else deserves recognition. Do better, for fuck’s sake.
